Members today are enjoying the exclusive benefit of watching their fellow members grow and flourish in ministry @ Soteria. We so believe in “equipping the saints” that we encourage our members to bring a Word in due season, an artistic expression, or some other form of worship and/or teaching for all of us to experience together. We are not a one dimensional, one man show where the Pastor is the only person who is relegated to bringing the message every week. No, the Body of Christ is so diverse and full of people that are hearing from God and wanting to share their hearts’ desires from Him. So we too desire to hear from God in whatever package or form He wants to speak through. This is so very important for growth and maturity in the body. As a Pastor, Prophet, Apostle, Evangelist, or Teacher, it is our job to “equip the saints for the work of the ministry (Eph 4:11.12).” A major part of that equipping is releasing them to minister as they hear and see God for themselves. We believe in hard work as part of a humble commitment to the work of the church. So, members are expected to also “pitch in” with the everyday practical application of ministry labor such as cleaning, errands, and whatever needs of ministry arise. We also believe that our facility is only a small part of what God is doing all across our area and we intend to be an integral part of the Kingdom mentality in lieu of “my church” or a “my ministry” organization. We invite a Pastor and their congregation from another ministry every month in a new effort we call “Preach To The City”. I know people are always talking about Asheville, downtown, and western North Carolina, so now we want to hear them preach about what they know or hear the Lord saying to the region. It’s also a chance for many ministers to preach outside their own congregational needs. We record every session and make sure it is posted on our website as well as re-played on our weekly radio broadcast to assure everyone has a chance to hear the heart of God through regional Pastors and other ministries. At the end of each monthly session we hold an open shared dinner to “mingle and tingle” so that each congregation can get to know each other better and build community relationships between parts of the Body in this area. | |||||||||
