They were concerned with and their lives steered by the needs of their fellow man and neighbors. Their focus was to spread the  good news about a way to Love one another and help each other to reach a level of living that all could enjoy by helping others. Their commission was to bring this good news, or  gospel , to all the world. They had been enlightened to a way to Love one another by an example of that Love dying for them. This was the new  Kingdom of God that was to come to Earth as it was in Heaven. Sure, the old tabernacle (or temple) was still a place to attend for teaching and worship, but their Faith was put to work by helping each other obtain what was needed for their lives. These were the  saints , those called by God to be His children, putting into action what their savior told them to do and to be. Many of these saints would die for the cause of Love. It had become traditionally and lawfully unacceptable for them to speak out about God, about Love, and about a man who died for their sins to be called  King , sound familiar? So, in order for the Love of their life to continue, many would sacrifice the very life they had in order for their Love to continue without abatement. As I watched many democratic protestors lining the street of NYC this week, I was reminded of those days of  The Way . As our ministry was locked out of our last meeting place in downtown Asheville and out of the Christian coffee house, this last week, I was reminded of the persecution many of the early believers suffered. Seems every time persecution came in  The Way , the Holy Spirit would spread the  Word even further. Uncannily, we now get reports from some of our  street acquaintances of their lives being impacted and continuing on in a much better way than before they met us. But we also see many more on the streets that need even more of what we and other ministries were able to offer to those in downtown Asheville during the last year of street ministry. Even though we ve prayed over and again for God to open the huge doors of the building we ve called out and even though we ve fasted and ministered to so many the good news of the Kingdom of God, we are now homeless. No, Melody and I still have a home to live in. But even that is beginning to border jeopardy simply because we ve gone further into debt every month of this ministry. We are both interviewing for jobs again so we can catch up on our bills and not owe any man except the debt of Love. We thought for sure God was closing all the doors we were using just to open a bigger one before Labor Day. I waited until today, Sept. 1, to write this just so I could still have a chance to testify and glorify God with a breakthrough. Yet, that breakthrough has not come. We still need almost $2 million to do what we need to do in downtown Asheville and set a standard for unifying the church in one  Way across America like it s never been since the days of Acts! The ministry is homeless now. And, we have no steady means of income. So, we re praying even harder for the Lord to use this obstacle as a mighty dispersion of those who have been effected by Soteria. Is this the last chapter? God only knows. We are fortunate to have wonderful  way WORD FOR THE MONTH Unify! I teach in my classes that Satan s army has been organized for six thousand years. And, as part of his organized plan, he s kept us apart and unorganized for just as long. A Bride without spot or wrinkle is one without denominational differences. One day I was talking to a lady when she started calling other churches a sprit of this and spirit of that. I was so saddened. Why are we so focused on what s wrong with ourselves and how we believe, falling right into the devils plans, rather than focusing on bringing the Kingdom of God here now by the authority Christ gave us through His Holy Spirit? Statistics say that 75% of Americans say they are Christians. Can you imagine what 75% of America could do to the world if we were all in one accord? We need to start to do everything together and forget what keeps us apart just long enough to take over the world, bring Christ back to Earth, and then just see if our differences even matter after that! Thoughts from Melody Apostolic Shifts There have been a few open doors this past month to speak at different venues on behalf of the Lord. Women s Aglow from Landrum, SC invited me in to share my testimony and valuable keys in intercession and then two weeks later, the Asheville, North Carolina Chapter invited me to speak. Both meetings were a true blessing, not only to impart, but to get a flavor of what God is doing and saying in the region. It is clear that God is doing a shifting. What the outcome will look like, no one totally knows, but God. Yet, it is evident that He is rearranging and shifting His bride to accomplish the purposes for this present age. Some are being shifted geographically, some relationally, and some to differing spheres of authority in marketplace and ministry. God has been impressing me that He is restoring the Apostolic to His church. This means a number of things, but to keep it simple, it is a restoration of modern day apostles to the church along with the other foundational or governmental gifts of evangelists, pastors, teachers, and prophets and spoken about in Ephesians 4:11. As this restoration occurs, it will change the church as we have known it and will involve a united church exhibiting and embracing the fullness of the nature of Christ. This means that we will be an overcoming church performing the works that Jesus did and even those greater works that He prophesied! As the fullness of Christ s authority is exercised on earth through His body, we will see His government increase and full dominion restored that was lost through the Fall. Because of Christ s death and resurrection, we, as Saints, have already been given the full dominion back that Adam had in the garden, but as a corporate body, we must accept this truth and administrate it here on earth. Many in the body have been lacking this full revelation of all that Christ purchased for us to have and accomplish here on earth, but God is stirring us here at Soteria to do our part in releasing this message to the body in any way He allows. We are seeing saints awaken to the knowledge that they are all called as kings and priests before our God and we all have a mighty purpose and work to do on earth in these last days. This requires activation and equipping, then turning and replicating that which has been given to them. His kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in heaven!
