During the past few months we have been bombarded with all types of information regarding our two presidential candidates. The debates, the comments by friends and relatives, the rhetoric on news networks, the hype in commercials. If you were to believe everything you hear, you could only toss a coin to choose which one was really telling the entire truth. Or, you could close your eyes and your mind and vote for that old standby called  your party . Alas, things are not like they used to be. No, not at all when it comes to politics AND religion. Most people have been convinced we should never discuss politics AND religion in the same setting. Many people even get very upset when you call them by their party name. Why? I can guess but that s all it would be. We ve been told in the last 50 years to keep quiet about our beliefs. It s personal. You shouldn t share or  impose your beliefs on others. Live quiet, work hard, make a difference by paying your taxes and giving to your church, and die. We had even lost the desire to participate in the very freedom that makes this country so great AND personal, voting! For many years more than 50% of the eligible population simply didn t care about casting their ballot due to apathy. The people of God, called the church, had also done the same thing. They simply had not cast their vote for righteousness, for God and country, in public. Many now do not believe in the necessity of war, taking a public stand on abortion or other injustices such as removing prayer from schools, and separation of church and state. All can be changed by prayer and action; voting and letting your representative know what your Kingdom desires are. Many want to be left alone, let the government take care of ALL of the social issues. This has led to a  great moral division of the country today, and allowed liberals to change our ability to be one nation under God and live in peace. The Lord told me the other day there are two types of people in this country; Those whose lives are a result of government, and those whose government is a result of their lives. It should be those who exercise the righteous way for our country to be run. Otherwise we ll simply do nothing and let others bomb us, take away our rights, and continually vote unrighteous people into office. The enemy has tried to make us dumb. But it has caused a remnant of the church to continue to pray and intercede for God to move on those who do hear Him completely and to DO something! And now, He has! We were led the last week of October to hold two prayer meetings back to back on the 31st and November 1. Sunday night was to be prayer of repentance for the corporate church body. Repentance for our apathy (not-my-job), our ignorance (close mindedness), our stubbornness (which is nothing more than pride), and prayerlessness (self-indulgence). All are sin. God can only move on our behalf and within our own lives if we continually have a repentive and contrite heart (Is 57:15). For over three hours many people were led to come forward, repent for the sins of the church, and pray to ask God for forgiveness. We truly believe there was cleansing and changing on behalf of not only those who participated, but the corporate church. If we only con t WORD FOR THE MONTH DO! Isa 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Mar 16:17-20 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with [them], and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.  Repent and DO the works of God in the Earth today! The Lord had given many words prior to this night that HE was going to put HIS man in office. But these things do not come about except by prayer and fasting. There were many warnings from renowned men and women of God that it was a dire time for our nation if we did not pray for HIS will to be done. We prayed in agreement for HIS will. We prayed that the election would have a swift ending and be overwhelmingly decisive. We had words that night that the enemy was saying to God,  let the games begin . We prayed the undecided would vote righteously, and most of all that people of God would vote. The next night I was up until 4:00 am watching the election returns. At one point one of the newscasters said  the game is on . The next day revealed what had already been prophesied God was going to do. Bush was returned to office by the largest margin and the most votes ever cast in America! God had answered all the prayers we prayed concerning the elections. The newscasts declared  moral values won the election, more than 4 million more Christians cast their vote this year than ever, the Democrats were stunned, and Ohio was the deciding factor. Even CNN showed a shot of Pastor Ron Parsley of Columbus Ohio preaching before the election,  vote your values ! Now we have a President who again will not bow down to society about speaking his Faith, even during politics. He will not be silent, we must not be silent. We must all together vote verbally now more than ever to win the battles to be able to live peaceful and quiet lives. Pray & do, God s will. Thoughts from Melody 1 Timothy 2:1-4 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. On October 31 and November 1, 2004, we gathered as a corporate body representing a minimum of twelve churches in the area to worship, repent, fast and pray for God s mercy and cleansing of our regional and national iniquities. The elections took precedence during our second night gathering as we sought the heart of God to put His selected man in office and petition for a righteous government. The word of the Lord directed us to pray for God s kingdom to increase here on earth as it is in heaven and for the structures, purposes and plans of man to decrease, no matter what the results of the election. Since the election has ended, I have been struck with the truth of how much  the effectual fervent prayers of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16 The piercing reality is that is time for the corporate body to unify and PRAY! We have seen great moves of intercession during the last two decades, where the Lord has raised up many strong and mighty prayer warriors, but it is time as never before, to see the corporate body come together and petition the Lord for His will to be done on earth as it is heaven. This is a mandate for the church in this hour and we see no greater example than during the elections, where the church was called to pray without ceasing! The old clichщ says  it ain t over, till it s over and the church is being called into a place of praying things through to completion and repenting for corporate and national sins as never before. This is not just for a few anointed prayers designated as intercessors, but is for the whole church. We are ALL called as priests and kings before our God- the priestly duty being one that requires our worship and intercession before God, while the kingly responsibility is one of exercising His dominion here on earth. This cannot be done by individuals alone, but the corporate body in its entirety. We are all members of one body and we need all our members in place and whole to be healthy, functioning in the maturity that God has ordained in this hour. We are posting this addendum to the newsletter this month to let you know about some very desperate needs and what is going on with our ministry in downtown Asheville. We have signed a three year lease for a storefront location in the heart of Asheville, NC. This facility will be a multifunction, multi-purpose Christian Empowerment Center. I have planned the front part of the ministry to resemble an internet cafщ complete with wireless internet connectivity. We will be serving various flavors of coffee and pre-packaged goodies. This will allow a quiet and contemplative setting, while letting people have a meeting place. During the time the space is not being utilized for meetings we will have several types of displays to offer training, informational, and practical goods for sale to help support the ministry. Behind the initial tiled area for the coffee shop will be wooden floors that will seat about 100 people. This area will have a portable stage, professional lighting, visual overhead display for multimedia, and a great sound system. All this powered by remote control and computer. This area is intended for teaching, preaching, worship, and other empowerment sessions that can be scheduled through management. The wonderful concept of this ministry space is that it is flex-space. It can be configured in many ways for many types of ministry. Here is a beginning list of what we see can happen: Allow other Christian ministries to hold meetings Hold cross-denominational equipping and training sessions Hold cross-denominational worship sessions Establish prayer rooms for eventual 24 hr prayer Allow counseling ministries to utilize facilities Set up a small snack/coffee facility for revenue Set up a small Christian book/tape/CD store for revenue Establish street ministry outreach and counseling for the homeless Allow other Christian artisans to sell goods and wares on consignment Establish an internet cafщ  hot zone for computer users Training for equipping the Saints Kingdom business training and practical application Allow Healing Room ministries to use the facilities And more as we build up resources. Basically, we have many different organizations that can share the floor space on a rotating and ongoing basis for donations and offerings that will provide income. But, it will take time and lots of money to finish the facility and equip it with the necessary components. This is where we ll need your help. Right now the landlord is having to put in an overhead fire sprinkler system to meet current code. This will take approximately another three weeks to complete. Then, if we re fortunate enough, we ll have the funds available to put in our own flooring, lighting, and all the rest of the equipment it ll take to execute the ministry properly. The exact layout, purpose, and implementation of the ministry this way is vitally important! We cannot do it halfway. We need to set a precedent and have all the equipment ready for every requirement. On the back of this page you will see a list of all the components needed and their approximate cost.
