THANK YOU! ….con’t –This is actually the “Ministering Spiritual Gifts” class required to be taken through any CI organization for Prophetic Ministry. It is the foundational course for all other CI classes. We’ve been fortunate enough to have many people already take the course so we allowed some of them to teach a module as part of their releasing and exercising of their spiritual gifting. It was an awesome time as each trainer brought their unique perspective and style to the attendees each day. By the time we finished 24 hours of training Saturday night we were all full but so blessed because the presence of the Lord showed up mightily. Now we’re offering another class through an advanced course called “Prophets and Personal Prophecy” which is ideal for leaders to be able to dissect personal prophecy and how it should be utilized in the church and in body ministry. Please pray for us to be able to begin to take this teaching into many churches where the Lord is desiring to have his Saints open up their gifts and us them in a balanced but powerful way. This is the only way the church is going to rise in power by letting the Saints exercise their gifting and authority in Jesus’ name! This has been a powerful month for equipping and releasing. We are looking forward to the rest of the summer and releasing more youth downtown to minister and create an atmosphere of God’s presence and power for all to enjoy. We also look forward to having adult mentors participate in helping to begin the outpouring the Lord has promised will come around October. We’ve had many people last month gain assistance from us including a huge worship team that held their first event in downtown Asheville, to a young man needing money for diabetic meds, and an older lady needing subsistence for rent and food. We try our best to meet the needs of those who are legitimate, we do check these things out, but we are limited and resources have shrunk last month from previous months. So , please, keep PRAYING FOR US !! A Word from Melody Running the race……. We have just come off of a 14 day work schedule and we are tired…BUT, so many good things happened during this last stretch. We held a prophetic encounter weekend in mid-July with 17 students present and it was wonderful. Chester and Betsy Kylstra, who are a part of our Christian International family, allowed us to come and teach at Echo Mountain Inn in Hendersonville. It was an intense time, but so much fun to see the Lord at work as the students were discerning His voice. And, it was a pleasure to teach in such a serene, anointed environment. . Then, this past weekend, we participated in Bele Chere – a street festival in downtown Asheville that typically draws in 350,000 people each year. Soteria was blessed to host a wonderful Christian magician and additionally, two balloon artists who made very creative balloon hats and art for children. Because of their presence, children were drawn to come in and participate in a very uplifting magic show with all kinds of fun components that glorified Jesus. A few folks walked out early, but for the most part, the crowds stayed and there were so many positive comments. It was a pleasure to bring this type of activity to the city during this major festival which draws people in from all around the world. In the midst of all the busy-ness, we have found that we need to take some time and rest. God commands His Sabbath rest for a reason and we have been so active, it has been hard to make time for the rest. This especially has been a challenge as Ernie and I continue to handle the daily operations of Soteria, including all ministry and administrative functions. Please pray with us that God will continue to supply the resources, people and provision to hand off the daily storefront responsibilities to competent leadership. The more we spend time downtown, we realize that the “right” people have to be stationed there in order to handle all the challenging dynamics of dealing with such a diverse clientele. It is necessary for a man to be present at all times in the storefront due to safety and security reasons and it must be someone who has a heart for the people and atmosphere of Asheville. This creates a major challenge in finding those to whom we can designate responsibility. We covet your prayers with us that God will provide! He is faithful.
