So much is Happening!
We @ Soteria have been commissioned to do a few things. Our purpose here is to help rend the heavens in downtown Asheville so the Glory of the Lord can manifest in such a way as to be a starting point for an outpouring to the nation. The presence of God will be so thick here in WNC it will be like “walking in warm butter.” In order to accomplish this goal we all have to fast, pray, feed the poor, heal the sick, mend the broken hearted, and cast out devils. This is the commission Jesus gave all of us. Signs and wonders are for the unbeliever and will follow all believers!
We have had many signs and wonders. We have had many healings and deliverances. Devils have been cast out of people. Deliverance from mindsets, strongholds, traditions, lack of Faith, and so much more has been accomplished over the last three years Melody and I have been ministering in downtown Asheville. We have fed and clothed poor. We have found shelter and support for them. We have given away many books, coffee, water, and prayers abounding to help them reach their destiny and callings in life while finding some relief from their pain. We have proof, fruit, of our labors.
In the course of battle are also casualties. The Lord makes it very clear we will suffer persecution and even some death in battle. This is battle folks, no doubt about it. We have lost lives to the streets. We have had many things stolen, broken, damaged, and even some of our people harassed and attacked. During the last five months we’ve suffered loss of “troops” under the tremendous pressure of leviathan, the communications demonic attack that has thwarted almost all our servants and friend’s relationships to the point that even Melody and I were in relational jeopardy.
Yes, Melody and I were separated for a time of prayer this summer for ten weeks. We’re back together now but we’re still paying a huge price. We had marched into downtown Asheville
                                                                 Continued……….over
Folks, due to changing impetus we may have to shut down Soteria downtown. This means we, Melody and I, will be returning to the secular market for work and financial support.
We regret the sudden announcement, but we have no choice but to take a hiatus from ministry and return to secular work for financial security. Since Soteria was incorporated in 2003 we have plunged a lot of our own money into the ministry. We still retain almost $40k in debt due to equipment, stock, and supplies spending while no commensurate salary was taken to provide enough income to override those expenses as well as pay for the every day costs of owning a home and simply living.
We haven’t been extravagant nor impulsive. And, we haven’t had savings, vacation money, or health insurance during these last three and a half years. But we have the normal things like everyone else that continually has to be paid for every month. We’ve simply borrowed against our personal credit to do this. Now that our debt has reached the limit of our ability to repay, and in percentage to our net worth, we simply cannot go on. We’ve sacrificed all we can. It takes more than we’ve ever made here in Asheville to subsist. Soteria’s downtown needs are falling too far behind for rent, supplies, communications, and insurance to remain open. It seems we’ve not been able to create enough exposure in this area to provide what is needed to support this endeavor. We haven’t been able to garner enough people and businesses that will pledge any amount to provide for this type of ministry as there are in other metropolitan markets. We are praying if God wants to continue to use Soteria and it’s facility downtown to be a beachhead for prayer and helping to coordinate outreaches downtown, as well as giving to the poor in many ways, then He will show us before the end of September. Otherwise we will begin the shutdown process in October to be closed by November or December.
If there are businesses, ministries, or teams of people who desire to support or use the facilities of Soteria, please step forward NOW. Our place was always meant to be utilized constantly every day by many different groups. We pray that will still happen!
