….con’t – I know, I’m not without blame myself. I’ve been stuck here in my own house for ten days with bronchitis and Melody has pneumonia. What have we done? Prayed? Yes, but how? Dear Lord, please heal us…. Oops! Did we ask Jesus to do something He’s already commanded us to do and already given us authority over? I must be suffering from more than an invasion of a microbial virus. It must be uselessness! It must be hopelessness! It must be ignorance! What is really wrong with me? The Lord is showing me how easy it is for His Eternal, all powerful, most beautiful, chosen above all else, created just for this purpose, one and only Bride, to just sit down, relax, and let the devil take over. Yes, you will win some battles and loose some. And, we know we win the war overall anyway. But, this battle you and I are giving in too may just be the one the devil needs to win the war over your own life. Do you chance it? Do you say, I “trust God”, I have “Faith” in God? The Faith you have and the trust you have is what God has put in you. There is a measure He gives each one of us. It is that Faith “HE has in you” that matters. Get it? He has Faith in you! You have to exercise the Faith He has in you to kick out whatever has come to try and steal it. Your weapon is not carnal. It is by “FAITH” we do all things through Christ. God has put the Faith of Christ IN you so that you have a weapon to win every battle. The enemy is trying every deceptive way possible to steal the only weapon that can defeat him right out from under your nose. The Word of God is powerless without Faith. The gifts and callings of God are useless without Faith. The money, confidence, positions, ministry, and pride are counterfeits without Faith. Even His presence is null and void if there is no Faith for Him to flow through! It’s time we pick up our weapon and take back what the enemy has stolen by our own lack of faith. The Lord has really been stopping Melody and I from starting and raising a church in any way that resembles what church has always looked like. It has been confusing and tough to decide who does what, under what authority, and delegate responsibilities as they are needed. What is going on? We’re only sure of one thing. God is setting forth a new structure that will be light, unburdened with top heavy leadership, and unencumbered with too much load on any one person or couple. He wants team work and He wants everyone to work on the same level to get the work of the ministry accomplished. I believe we are going to see more of this type of shifting throughout the region and the Church as the new year moves forward. I believe God wants Pastors to be closer to the ground with other people, relating to how they are on a daily relational basis so that they can teach people how to walk like Christ and not get caught up in every day details of life which distracts and derails many of their gifts and callings. People need to be ready to live miraculous lives and get over all the obstacles the world has programmed into our beings. We need to kill that flesh that dictates our decisions and begin to live purely by Faith and direction of the wind of the Holy Spirit. Home groups, what we will call at Soteria MASH units, will continue to be a focal point for rallying entire neighborhoods to bring Christ to those right next door and win the battle for souls where the rubber meets the road. The real battle doesn’t exist in the court rooms or the halls of congress. The real battle lies in the mind of people who live all around you. When they have been won over to the Kingdom by your relationship and witness to them of the true Love and solid foundation of Christ, then they too will become as much as the Army of God as you are and win even more. The cascading effect is the result God desires through relationship in lieu of church programs and media dependency. The history of church has been for the priesthood to stand in for us and do all the real praying, scripture reading, and communion. In recent history we’ve begun to realize it is our own relationship to God that matters more than just calling ourselves Christian. But we still want someone else to really do the work for us while we show up for events and watch what happens. We’re so programmed. God is really trying to break that attitude in each of us and He will get it done even if it means raising the covering of grace on America and letting judgment fall in mighty storms and calamities just so we are forced off our good intentions and really do something to save someone else outside our own comfort zones. If I ever had a prophetic word for the church it is this: Get ready to be ready at any time to have to minister to someone you don’t know or didn’t think you could ever reach. God will cause things and allow things to happen that are going to raise people up from their normal lives into places of life and death. You will be there with an opportunity to heal them, raise them from the dead, or just pray through salvation and give some immediate discipleship to launch them into doing exactly what you just did to them immediately. We won’t have time to send people through school.
